Unshaming Our Bodies

A mom of two said this to me 6 months ago who wanted to desperately join back work.
A lot of scrutiny happens on women's bodies and how we dress up at work. The standard of a woman's body is a stringent one and keeps many women feeling less confident about themselves.
But not any more.
Here is what we did together for this mom to get back to work feeling confident in her body and her work to crack that interview and get a job -
๐ฅ Bringing gratitude to this body which has birthed. Birthing is not easy. Carrying a baby inside you for 9 months, stretching your skin, cells and soul to hold the baby is not a joke. Your body is this sacred vessel and deserves so much more.
Sit in this feeling.
๐ฅ Then we dissected the way our bodies look and showcasing our gifts. Is there any relation between them?
Obviously no, then why are we giving so much importance to the body appearance.
A good exercise to reinforce this belief is making a list of your gifts and skills. And then asking yourself this question, "Is this gift dependent or related to how my body looks?"
๐ฅ For almost 3 months we practiced being in this body and giving mock interviews. Where I could feel the energy in her body changing with every practice interview.
You are more than your body. And the world cannot keep you small because of the way your body looks.
Let me ask you now, "How do you feel in your body?" ๐
And listen to this meditation, unshaming our bodies and bringing in the gratitude!
